What kind of heads for my 350?
Ok, I have a rebuilt 350 bored .30 over, which is running a cam about 3 steps over stock, edelbrock 600cfm carb, holly electric fuel pump, high vol oil pump, about 3 steps over stock, and hooker headers.The motor puts down some good power now but I was thinking about upgrading the stock heads with the trickflow aluminium heads. I have also heard vortec heads are a good choice. Basically, just looking for more of a power gain. I will probably be upgrading to a 750 carb soon because the motor seems starved for fuel.
I want to keep it within reason and know enough that simply throwin heads on it could cause issues. Basically, Im looking for suggestions on heads, sizes, type, brand?
if you want to kick up the power a bunch go to the Airflow research heads. you can go to their web site and put in the cam specs. you are running and they will recommend a set of heads that will work great. Or you can go with a set of edelbrock heads and manifold that are matched for a 350 with an over 30 bore. Then if you really want to make some power take your 350 and stroke it with a 400 crank and some good forged pistons. and the airflow heads. puts you right around 550 HP. There are so many different combinations for the 350 that it is left to your own desire. just takes cubic dollars for the need for speed. I am running a stroked 350 in a 31 model A that dynoed at 680 hp. just takes money.
