Do you use more gas with cruise control or regular driving?

assuming you are driving on a two lane highway with some hills, and moderate traffic, would you use more gas driving on cruise control set to say 65 or to just drive along at around 65 (sometimes over, sometimes under)?

The Cruise control saves more gas by far.

The aim is to keep a constant speed / engine load (to save gas). The cruise control makes minute adjustments and therefore keeping the engine load much more steady / constant.
