How much oil will a blown head gasket consume in 1000 miles?

I have a blown head gasket (or so they say) and two quarts of oil were missing after 1000 miles. Does this make sense? There is no noticeable burnt oil in the exhaust, the pan and valve cover were sealed three weeks ago. Where did the oil go?

Check your cooling system... Unlikely, but the only place it would go if the two issues are in fact related.

How much would a head gasket cost to replace at a garage?

My head gasket has blown on my Citroen Saxo 1.4i, I was just wondering how much, on average, it would cost to replace
