Wheel Set

Need some of your expertise on this two wheel set>>?

I'm been arguing in my mind about this 2 sets of wheels Reynolds Solitude and Easton EA90 Aero, now i found some reviews about the Reynold wheels pretty bad ratings and none on easton, so please can you give me some of your expertise or experience on this wheels.

If I had to choose between the two I would go with Easton because Easton is the better known brand. Personally I would go for Velocity or Mavic wheels

Which mtb wheel set--Mavic Crossride disk or Shimano XT/Mavic 717 disk rims?

I weigh about 225lbs and ride on moderate terrain with no huge jumps or drops. They will be mounted on a BMC Super-stroke. Both are 08 models and I will be staying in the Under $300 range. The Crossrides have mixed opinions and there isnt any real reviews for the XT wheels. Any thought or ideas would be great.

Of those two, I'd go for the Shimano hubs....they're very durable and don't have the fussy issues and parts availability problems that Mavic wheels do. Mavic's freewheel body is irritating and requires constant attention. I do have a set of Mavic Crosstrails and they're nice wheels, but when those give up I won't buy from them again....too many other great hub designs out there that don't need the servicing like they do.

You can get into a set of tough wheels from Azonic or Transition, too, for $240 and $280 respectively (the Outlaws and the Revolutions). Check those out before you buy. At your weight, they'll handle most of the rocks and rough trails you can throw at them and they aren't too heavy.
