Wire Cable
Used to be able to get about 70 channels with the cable wire straight into the TV but only 12 with the new TV?
Is it something I am doing wrong or have they changed new TVs to not get all the channels from the cable wire?
When switched to Cable it finds no channels 
The cable and Ant input are the same in the back.
Cable and Ant Slot are the same slot. 
I will check the STD when I get home.
1st. He meant to make sure the cable wire is plugged into the "cable slot" and not the antenna slot.
2nd. Under the menu, where you go to auto select the channels you should have a setting of STD, ICR or HCR cable signals. It's probably STD, but check with your cable company to be sure. This needs to be set correctly before the auto-scan.

How to split a cable wire for another tv?
kk, I have a cable wire, going from the box out side, around me house, on out side to another room. On the out side, the wire passes through my patio. In my patio, I have no jack. I want tv out there! What can I do? I'd have to like cut the wires, put a screw on thing on both ends, and put a 'threefer" (a 1 in, 2 out).
What tools needed? things? what do I look for? Bad?
Get yourself 2 connectors to put back on the cable, when you cut it. You'll also need a 2-way splitter & feed the cable line coming from the box to the INPUT side of the splitter. On the OUTPUTs of the splitter you can screw the cable that runs by to the other room, in one side & add a short piece of cable to the other OUTPUT side of the splitter, for your patio tv.
The only tools you need are a pair of wire cutters & a utility knife, but you'll need to do a good job preparing each end.
